Leave it to Leonor #85

This week, I am thinking about Bill Cunningham. This week, news broke that his family discovered a memoir he'd written about his early years. Last week was his birthday. He would've been 89. Bill and I met when I worked at The New York Times. I officially met Bill when he stopped me in the cafeteria of the then-new Times building and asked to take my photo. After getting over the shock, I went back up the stairs as he asked and he took two pictures of me. A week or so later, he gifted me the photos along with very sweet notes. It was more than I could've ever asked for and was the beginning of our friendship.
